The Sorell Men’s Shed Inc. is a charitable, not-for-profit organization.
Our home is generously leased to us by the Sorell Council which allows us to provide the community with a place to meet, create and participate in projects and to foster better mental and personal health of our members.
The bulk of our machinery has been purchased with Federal and State community grants which the shed has been able to access and update or purchase tools required for members needs.
Our “Shed’s” aim is to help our members feel useful in a world where human involvement is rapidly disappearing and to help them learn new skills, or share our knowledge of skills with those seeking to learn, and make new friends and further the health and welfare of its members.
Men’s Sheds are fast being recognized as vital, viable places to accommodate these needs and provide relaxed, happy creative spaces for members of all ages to enjoy.
Activities within the Men’s Shed are many and varied:
Woodwork and metal working. The shed is very fortunate to have a large range of modern equipment and tools for our members to use. we even have a vehicle hoist which allows members to service or work on their vehicles.
Never used power tools? Skilled members will show you how!
Having Fun, sharing, show and tell, a great way to get yourself back on track. The Sorell Men’s Shed is where the skilled and unskilled can share time with each other, or just sit around enjoying a cuppa and swapping yarns.
If you have a skill or hobby you would like to pass on to others, or you would like to learn, or even donate something old to our restoration project, come along or call us on the number below.
We are in Station Lane Sorell, just behind the new bus “park & ride” area. Drive out the back end of Woolworths car park, and go straight across the road.
Opening times:
Monday: 9.00am to 3.pm
Tuesday: 9.30am to 2.30.pm for the next 3 months
Wednesday: 9.00am to 3.pm
Thursday: 9.30am to 2.30.pm for the next 3 months
Friday: 9.00am to 3.pm
The shed will be closed on all public holidays.
